About Me

“If it doesn’t work out, I’ll still tell the story.”

That’s what I told myself the day I pressed my hand above my eyebrows and looked through the window of a dark rental unit.

It was a story I never had to tell.

Dogs have always played a significant role in my life. At 23—with no savings, no business experience, and no fear—I started a dog training center rooted in positive reinforcement. Growing that business from the ground up taught me everything: how to market, write newsletters and sales copy, hire and train a team, and solve problems on a daily basis.

Even while building MJ’s Pet Training Academy (which now employs a small team and serves thousands of customers), writing remained a constant. I contributed to pet industry publications and continued to pursue personal writing as well. Over time, my love of words and storytelling evolved into a second passion.

Today, I write both bylined stories and collaborative pieces for professionals who want to turn their expertise into influence through thought leadership, LinkedIn content, or strategic storytelling. Whether I’m writing about dog training or something entirely different, I bring the same curiosity, care, and clarity to every project.

I continue to grow as a writer by investing in craft-focused courses and expanding my skill set, including recent work in data analytics, which supports the more structured side of my storytelling.

Writing is something I deeply enjoy, and I hope that passion shines through in every project I undertake.
